I'm a very Lucky Lady

Ever since I was little, I have found 4-leaf clovers every summer.
Whenever I walk in the grass, I'm bound to find at least one if not more.
They just seem to jump out at me, because of their unusual shape in comparison to the other 3 leaves.

Wanna see my collection?

When I was really little, my Mom would iron them between waxed paper to preserve them for me. A little later, I started taping them to index cards.

Now I use self-laminating sheets to preserve them. There are over 100 here in this photo but I've found & given away dozen's more. Every member of my family has one in their wallet. I used to tuck them into birthday cards, too, for dear friends.

There was even a write-up in our local newspaper showing me holding up the large 5-leaf clover, seen in the lower center portion. I have 2 of those.

I am very lucky indeed for many, many reasons most important of which is my sweetheart survived a heart attack in Dec. & was around to celebrate his 84th birthday yesterday!

I love you with all my heart, more & more each day!
I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

Caroline & I made him his favorite
lemon cheesecake!

We were going to tint it GREEN but he
vetoed that idea.

  2. Oh! I clicked on your blog right away. We have a patch of clover right down the road and I was thinking it would be a fun thing to look for 4 leaf clovers with my grandsons. I didn't realize they were so easy to find. I love how you put them in bd cards, etc. Your collection looks so interesting. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy, Happy Birthday to your Sweetie! He looks very healthy now. You are BOTH lucky!

  4. I used to think I was lucky until I saw your four leaf clover collection. I have only one special one I found when my husband and I were dating. It's framed in our bedroom with a quote above it, "How lucky we found each other." It means so much because we found it at the park where he asked me to marry him.

Happy Birthday to your hubby. And I agree with him -- green cheesecake may have been a little much and I love green!

Oh my goodness, YOU ARE A VERY LUCKY LADY!!!!
My Father in law finds them often as well, although I don't think he has that many!!!
When we visited them in KY 2 summers ago, he found me one!!!! I carry it in my wallet still to this day!!!
I would think it would be very difficult to spot, but you must have the eye for them because no one I know has that many!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your dear hubby!!!
    Many Many more!!!

  9. I, too, had a nack for finding the 4-leaf clover. I never thought to keep them as a collection. Every now or then, I find one in a book from my childhood.
    Happy Birthday to your hubby.

  11. I think that is soo cool that you saved all those 4 leaf clovers. I used to find them as a child too, but my mother probably dumped them after awhile. Now, I can't get down there close enough to look....LOL Blessings to the Birthday Boy too! He's looking wonderful!!
