Tea Cozy for ME!

After I didn't win one of the DARLING tea cozies that Gayle at

Garden of Daisies

gave away last week,

"Waaaaaa-Boo-Hoo!"

I decided to try making one of my own.

I've made ONE before from quilted placemats

but this was the first time I started completely from scratch.

I lined it with both Warm & Natural cotton quilt batting

and put some Thinsulate on the bottom as well as the sides

but not up into the scallops.

It worked GREAT & kept my tea warm enough

to enjoy two cups while sitting on the porch...

Thank you, sweet sewing friend, Jerry, for my delightful

book on "Afternoon Tea"!

Does she know me, or what??!!

I learned that Marilyn at

Delights Of The Heart

sells tea cozies that are similar to the ones Gayle made.

She also sells a pattern, which would have made my job SEW much easier!

I recommend visiting her tea shop, Marmalady's.

I hope to make more of these little treasures,

as I think they'd make great gifts for all my

tea loving friends.

I'm going to link up with Marty at

A Stroll Thru Life

for her Tabletop Tuesday,

since this IS on top of a table!

Thank you for visiting The Gazebo House.

fondly,

Rett

  4. Oh how pretty! The fabric is such a rich color...love that and it all looks perfect with the flowers and the book. I swear you are a sewing wonder!

I haven't been around much lately...dealing with all the family stuff. I'm hoping to slowly get back into some sort of "normal" soon.

  8. What a pretty tea cosy you made, Rett!
I have two of them and use one every night because I really don't like tepid tea.
