Easter Brunch for the Grand-kidlets

Bright, happy colors abound here at The Gazebo House!



This table went through several changes, as you'll see,

but some of the photos were just too cute not to use anyway.

The centerpiece started out with the apothecary jar of eggs



but was later switched when I found this live geranium with lavender blossoms.




The cache pot that I have it in, matches the handles

on the hand painted Spring Carnival Ceramic baskets on either side.


The soft, Monet-like pastel napkins went from the sides of the plates

to beneath them, once the polka-dot placemats were put into use.



Colorful plastic eggs currently sit in the egg cups

but will be replaced with decorated hard-boiled eggs with each child's name

as place cards on Easter morning.



A wee bit of candy is on the main table but not too much allowed until AFTER the meal.






The white dinner plates are Oneida's Wicker

(a new service for 8 that I found while

shopping with my sister...$21 total!)

The white salad plates are Michael Lee's

favorite Gibson dishes from Big Lots.

The colorful "Happy Easter" plates are last year's purchase.



I found these two harlequin patterned ceramic baskets

called Spring Carnival

at two different places, on two different shopping trips.

They are FTD floral containers

but I'm going to use them to hold my

decorated Easter eggs.

I'm using my Mom's flatware, as it is lightweight &

easy for the children to handle.

It is Wm. A. Rogers Oneida Silverplate.

The pattern is Wildwood/Always from 1958.

Fresh OJ for everybody in

Napoleon Bee glasses & water or milk

in the American Whitehall tumblers.

Coffee, (for the adults) tea & dessert will be served from the side table.

My glass basket, was an Avon collectable from years ago.

Thanks also to Vintage Sandy for the gift of the lovely quilted mug mats

that have helped to continue the lavender color theme.

They’re not just for mugs!!

Spring Wreath for Metamorphosis Monday

Do you remember when I found the wreath,
below in the clearance aisle of Home Goods?

It was originally $80...seriously???
It was reduced to $39.99.
Then it went down to $18.00.
I finally bought it for 1/2 off at
a whopping $9 bucks!

It had a few bare spots but I
just took sprigs from the back &
hot glued them into those empty spaces.

I also pulled off all the faux berries.

I added some spring-like silk flowers that
I had in the house.

Added some ribbon, too.

I'm very happy with the transformation!

The glittery ribbon came from the Dollar Store.
I'm going back for more as
I've decided the iron planter needs a bow, too.

I had enough flowers left over to fill
the wrought iron planter, too.
I FINALLY put in a cocoa mat liner to
cover up the stems.

I had a bunny tucked in there for Easter,
but now it just works well for Spring.

An Easter Blessing

Granddaughter Caroline's basket
awaits the Easter Bunny.

I tucked a clear cylinder glass vase
upside down inside this apothecary jar
prior to filling.
It takes up quite a bit of room
so I didn't need as much candy.
That's STILL a lot of candy!

I added the bow at the last minute.
I think it resembles a Monet watercolor!

The skeleton keys are to my parent's old home.


Its warmed up enough to sit
in the gazebo & have some tea & cake.
My crystal cake dome qualifies as
a cloche, right?

Spring has finally returned to Ohio!

I was so busy trying to

capture the sunlight, I never noticed
that candle was leaning.
Too late to take another picture
or I'll be late for the party!

This Depression glass butter dish
(made by Jeanette Glass in the 1930's)
is the "Sunflower" pattern &
is somewhat of a cloche.

Look at the knob...you can see an
upside down view of the iron scrolls
of the table base. Cool, huh?
I love little surprises like that which,
of course, I didn't see through the camera lens.

This pretty little hand-painted ceramic egg
is by Kaldun and Bogle.

The REAL eggs were hand dyed by ME! LOL

This little yellow & white egg could be
considered a form of a cloche.

with tiny peanut butter cups hiding in there!

The little bunny cheese spreader


is NOT going to work too well
on these malted milk ball eggs!
