Amen. None of us is here, in North America, because our ancestors had a great life somewhere else. They came here for a new start - for better things for us, their children and descendants. I believe that we owe it to them, and those who have sacrificed, to keep this wonderful New World in at least as good a state as it was when we were handed the reins.
Rett, I know you can't keep up with my projects, but you did comment on the post that has the art over the mantel now. My post with the trim added to the top of the chimney wall that you got your husband to look at. Post is called reveal of a change. Thanks again, Kim
Rett, What a lovely Memorial Day post. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thank you for visiting my blog and BTW, my DH doesn't eat hummus either. Crazy men, they don't know what is good for them but I think it is a textural thing??? I keep it for myself all the time and love snacking on it either with veggies or crackers.
Thank you for visiting my blog today and for your very kind comments on my first MM. I am a rookie for sure but I think this is going to be a lot fun. Your photos are amazing! The peonies and your tulips are fantastic! The little girl in the picture is precious! I have throughly enjoyed my visit here today! Enjoy your holiday! Denise
I agree most wholeheartedly - we have so much to be thankful for and owe such a debt of gratitude to those who serve in our Armed Forces. Thank you for a wonderful tribute.

I'm a critical care RN & was married 28 yrs to a warm & funny family practice physician, who passed away 2-7-15. I wish we had found each other sooner, so we could have loved each other longer.
I have 1 daughter & am called "Nana Rett" by her 3 children, my 2 grandsons & 1 delightful granddaughter. (Hubby had 12 grands & 3 great-grands, too)
I enjoy sewing, quilting, smocking & embroidering clothing for them along with playing tennis for exercise and do throw an occasional dinner party just to keep my cooking skills from getting too rusty!
I hope your creativity will be nurtured here.
Rett, what a great post. Have a wonderful holiday.
