Anyone who knows me, knows how much I ♥♥♥ lemon!
When I saw these luscious "Lemon Pull-Aparts" on Creations by Kara's
blog, I knew, right away, that I had to try them.
They were SOOOO easy!
Lemon Pull-Aparts
Rolls:
12 Rhodes dinner rolls, thawed but still cold
zest of 1 lemon
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp butter, melted
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
Cut rolls in half and place in a greased 9×13" pan.
Drizzle with the melted butter.
Mix lemon zest and sugar together in a small bowl.
Sprinkle HALF of the lemon sugar mixture over the rolls.
Cover and let raise till doubled.
Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture on top.
Bake at 350º for about 20-25 minutes.
Remove from pan. (I didn't do this...BIG mistake!)
Combine glaze ingredients.
Drizzle over rolls while still warm.
Enjoy!
Just hot out of the oven.
Here is where I made my mistake.
I left them in the pan to cool.
WRONG!!
The sugar/lemon mixture hardens as it cools &
it was like cement, holding down those yummy little treats.
I drizzled the sugar/lemon glaze over them right in the dish.
It was a real struggle to pry those puppies out, but I somehow managed!
They were full of wonderfully lemony sweet goodness &
worth all the extra effort to get them loose.
If YOU make them, just follow the directions & you'll be fine.
I'm partying with Michael Lee for
Come join the fun & thanks for stopping by The Gazebo House!

YUM! One of these days, I just might make some of these wonderful recipes you continue to post. Wow! Lucky Ern!
ReplyDeleteI'm saving this in my file of recipes to go with my yellow themed year. (Lemon... yellow...) Thanks for the tip about not letting them cool in the pan.
ReplyDeleteBet they WERE yummy. I like lemon too on pastry or just about anything else.
ReplyDeleteRett, Those look delicious and easy too. I recently made a cake that was supposed to be removed from the pan after 10" and I didn't; that, too, was a big mistake! My cranberry poppyseed pound cake was delish but not pretty! I have a lemon poppyseed bread that I've made twice recently (I'm on a poppyseed kick lately having made lemon ps bread, blueberry ps bread, the cake, and a glazed ps bread) - oh, but back to my point. You would love the lemon ps bread! Have a wonderful wknd!

They look beautiful Rett and no doubt tasty! Always nice when a recipe is easy too:@)
ReplyDeleteThose look wonderful, Rett. I have everything in the recipe, including the frozen dinner rolls (not Rhodes, as we don't have that brand, but I hope it's similar). I am getting the rolls out of the freezer as soon as I post this, and have already printed the recipe. Lemon is TGD's favourite flavour so it will be a hit! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh yum!! I love lemon also...printing out that recipe!
ReplyDeleteRett, I'm going to try these. They look yummy. I love lemon! Thanks for sharing the printable recipe. It is printing out as I type. ~ sarah
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, these look too good to be true. Perfect for fellowship at church tomorrow. Thanks Rett!
ReplyDeleteRett, these looks so wonderful. I must try them. They would be lovely for Easter, don't you think? Next time you get a stuck pan try putting it back in the hot oven for a few minutes to loosen it back up. It usually works.
ReplyDeleteNow, why didn't I think of that??? Duh?? Thanks Bunny...now if only I can remember it for next time.
DeleteI was just going to say that, put them in a hot oven, and there you go!
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious~ nice and lemony. So when you come I will make a lemon something!
Dh made cinnamon raisin bread while I was out. Smells delicious!
These sound so simple to make Rett, and look delicious. A good tip about not letting the glaze harden in the pan. :-)

Hi Rhett, Those look so yummy and I just finished eating supper which is a little late for us, but we didn't have lunch until 2 O'clock. Your food pictures always make me hungry. My daughter and daughter-in-law both love to cook so I am sure that one of them would make the recipe for me. It is so hard to cook just for two and especially with one who doesn't want to eat after you get it fixed. Have a wonderful weekend. Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI so love your Valentines header and the pretty dishes, just great for the February lover's month! Your Lemon pull-aparts look great and so yummy. Thanks for the recipe and for the important tip and even though you made a mistake, they look so yummy, nice and warm with a cup of coffee, wow! Thanks for your lovely visit. Have a nice Sunday.

OMG Rett, these look sooooo yummy. I have printed the recipe. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLemon and chocolate are my two favorite 'goody' flavors! These sound wonderful and your 'mistake' is duly noted :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this one just makes my mouth water. I adore lemon and bread and haven't ever seen a recipe like this. I will definitely have to make this one.
ReplyDeleteRett,
ReplyDeleteNow I need to find Rhodes Dinner Rolls. Those look scrumptious! I enjoyed looking at your sewing project slideshows. You are amazing. I am in a knitting phase right now but have some sewing projects I hope to do before I go back. We are having wonderful weather and that helps with arthritis!
Hugs,
Carol
