Quiet Interlude

I Joshua Bell's violin version of this song!

My father sang many a solo of Ave Maria at

our church of The Immaculate Conception.

He had the most beautiful tenor voice!

He sang the Ave Maria at my

daughter's wedding while she placed a

bouquet of flowers at the base of

the Blessed Virgin Mary statue.

This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

I sure wish we had digital recordings

of that moment in the church.

Their wedding was 2 days before Christmas.

Dad's birthday was the 9th of August.

He's been gone for 6 years now

but I still miss my Dad &

think of him every time I hear this song!

Just feeling a little melancholy this morning.

fondly,

  17. Rett, what precious memories. Val's wedding was spectacular. I can't imagine a time in any church when the interior is any more beautiful than at Christmas....unless it is dressed for a Christmas wedding. Hugs to you, my special, special friend.

  21. I just found your blog and am now following you. Lovely post. My daddy is also gone but lives in my heart, he too had a beautiful tenor singing voice. I had to cry with the Ave Maria by Joshua Bell, so beautifully done. It was played at my wedding and I also placed my bouquet with the Virgin Mary while it was playing. mom's birthday was Aug. 8, she lived to be 95 years old. Very touching photo of your daughter and your dad. Hugs...Lu
