at Barb's Beautiful Bella Vista Blog, of course.
"Said the first little rooster,
With a strange little squirm,
"I wish I could find
A fat little worm."
Said the next little rooster,
With an odd little shrug:
"I wish I could find
A fat little bug."
Said a third little rooster,
With a small sigh of grief,
"I wish I could find
A green little leaf!"
Said the fourth little rooster,
With a faint little moan,
"I wish I could find
A wee gravel stone."
"Now, see here!" said the mother,
From the green garden patch,
"If you want any breakfast,
Just come here and scratch!"
Rooster Lovers in bloggerville!
At last count, there were almost 200 participants in
this second annual "Show Off Your Roosters"Blog party
hosted by Barb at Bella Vista.
I've gathered a few since then in the Gazebo House
and they are slowly multiplying.
He IS King of the roost!
He usually sits high atop my bakers rack in the kitchen
but today he's front & center in the sunroom
along with my everyday dishes.
or just on display for decoration.
"All around the barnyard
The animals are fast asleep.
Sleeping cows and horses,
Sleeping pigs and sheep.
Here comes the cocky rooster
To sound his daily alarm.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo!
Wake up, you sleepy farm!"
flocks of these fine feathered friends!
Thank you, Barb, for hosting this fun meme.
Oh...I almost forgot these!
Bought them especially for the party &
FORBID anyone to use them until AFTER today.
LOL
Thanks for stopping by the Gazebo House.
Its fun to share the same crazy passions with all of you!
fondly,
OH MY STARS!

Love everything about your gazebo house. I could sit in there and welcome my day with a nice cup of coffee or end my day with a nice glass of wine.
We have had a MARVELOUS time visiting! CeeKay and Marty are just a whole lot of fun to shop with. They follow behind you holding whatever it is you are trying to avoid - calling your name.

Handsome Mr. Rooster on your sun soaked table- beautiful colors together. I enjoyed your poems/stories sprinkled throughout your post and the shadow pics.
ReplyDeleteYour previous post - Caroline's tea party- makes me realize how quickly our girls are growing up- believe they are 6 months apart. Wish I had a freeze button.
Everything is gorgeous and stunning in every way! I adore the plate in yellow too. How neat to see it in another color.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet birthday wishes yesterday. They meant the world to me. You're the best! :)
Isn't that funny, Rett, how Blogland can really influence our lives, lol. Last year, I had to go to the store to buy 1 or 2 roosters to join the party and look how much I accumulated since then. I love yours, they look like they have such authority, so powerful...Christine
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you actually went to the store to collect roosters. Roasters, I can understand, but roosters? I guess I'm just "not with the program" of this tablescape stuff yet. Although I really enjoy your home and all the beautiful things!!! I can just imagine what E said when you told him what you had to shop for. LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, and that is one stately bird-just great!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have begun your collection, Rett! Love the F&F rooster so much. Where did you find him? He looks great with your dishes.
ReplyDeletehugs, Sue

Love to you~
Rebecca

Second try, first comment wouldn't publish!
ReplyDeleteLove your table! I did it last year, but I am not a rooster collector so I don't have enough to do a different table.
Hope it works this time!
Some mighty fine roosters. Thanks for sharing.
