Three F's...Faith, Family & Friends...the cornerstones of our lives!
To honor one of the three F's, we are having friends over for dinner this weekend.
I bought new matching placemats & napkins
on sale at T. J. Maxx.
They have a lovely tone-on-tone leaf effect
that you can only see at a certain angle & in certain lighting.
I think they will work beautifully for both our Thanksgiving table
as well as some Christmas dinners.
I started with just brown & white on the table,
then added some rusty autumn tones & my green depression glass
to echo the green in the napkins.
I snipped some mums from the front yard & poked them into florist water picks
then tucked them around & into my ivy wreath beneath the white pumpkin.
(found at Jo-Ann's half-price end of season sale)
then tucked them around & into my ivy wreath beneath the white pumpkin.

Can you hear my daughter saying
"Motheerrrr, you never throw anything away!"
Yep, that's right...because just as soon as I pitch it
I turn around & need it for something else.
I'm glad I saved these water picks!
I also found the little glittery gourds at Jo-Ann's
that I used as favors at each place setting.
I originally thought I could write an initial on the leaf
to indicate places for my guests to sit
but you can't write very well over glitter
so I'm using my porcelain place markers instead.
The flatware is Napoleon Bee by Horchow.
The napkin rings are also new & they
match the wooden chargers I purchased last year.
White ironstone plates in a combination of American Atelier's
Bianca Leaf & some generics.
I've made chunky applesauce & topped it with
red hot candies & Vietnamese cinnamon
from my sweet sewing friend, Carol (Mamacjt)
Thank you, again, Carol...I ♥ this cinnamon!
I'm using this cute acorn topped serving dish
(take note, Donna!--she has a thing about acorns)
to hold several salad toppings.
It makes them easier to pass around the table.
I used Debbie's (Confessions of a Plate Addict) method of ink stamping
French words around my candles so they wouldn't be so stark white.
I count my bloggy friends among my blessings &
wish you could all come over for a dinner party!
What a blast that would be, huh?
It's time for another Tablescape Thursday with our gracious hostess,
Susan of Between Naps on the Porch
Be sure to stop by her beautiful blog to see other participants in the party!
Thank you, Susan for hosting this fun event each week.
Thanks for stopping by the Gazebo House, too.
That would be fun to surprise you! Then you would probably faint. LOL
ReplyDeleteJust send me that white pumpkin! Your table is gorgeous.
What a beautiful table setting Rett. The mums look great with that fabulous white pumpkin. Hope you have a great dinner with your friends. Take care, Jen.
ReplyDeleteLucky guests Rett, your table is beautiful. I think I told you before but if I didn't I just love your flatware. Everything looks so "together" on your table. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteRett,
ReplyDeleteYour table is beautiful. I will have to revisit the post about the candles. Those are lovely. I love the green depression glass, too.

ReplyDeleteRett, this is just so pretty. Love the new placemats and napkins, they are beautiful. Your dishes are all fabulous and I love the green depression glass. Stunning accessories. Have fun with your friends, that's always the best. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThat is seriously one of the prettiest tablescapes I have seen. I love the simple classic look of the brown and white, but the rich yellows mixed with those pops of greens is gorgeous!!! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, Rett. I like the idea of the single pumpkin tucked into the wreath of fall mums. Your guests are going to feel so special. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeletePerfect, just perfect. The chargers and napkin rings are beautiful - what a fortunate find. I'd love to come for dinner!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tablescape! I adore that green depression glass. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving the tip about debugging the pine cones! My husband says the geckos in the house will take care of the bugs and I won't have to worry about it. HA!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous, Rett. I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteI save those water things too! And I hear the same laments from my dh!
Packrat, I am!
I am sure your friends were thrilled to dine at such a beautiful, warm table!
Rett, it is the perfect party table! Where do I start? Love the pumpkin and the inked Debbie-candles! ;-) Such a pretty table, and the linens are lovely, too. And the plates. And the flatware. And the glasses! You just did a great job, and I like the little acorn dish for salad toppings. Great idea, and I want to eat salad at YOUR house! YUM!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your friends. I have my godson, his mom and grandmom here for a few days, and I'm already loving every minute we've spent together. It is an early night because he has to meet his classmates tomorrow to tour "the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the continental United States" aka St. Augustine! They are studying Florida histry this month, and he is a history buff!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Your Autumn table is just lovely, Rett! That white pumpkin and the three F's make such a wonderful centerpiece! Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeletehi rett, thanks for popping in! you asked about how i did the soup decor, i use the little bottles and i prefer yogurt or sour cream, it has more substance and holds it shape :) now have fun shopping for that perfect tureen~

ReplyDeleteWow -- those placemats are stunning and really set a wonderful theme for your table. I love the green Depression glass with the browns of the table. Such lovely autumnal touches you've added!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I'm with you...don't pitch it because you will surely need it the moment the trash truck rolls away!!! I LOVE the pillar candles!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablescape! Can I come????
ReplyDeleteI love this table~ The green depression glass is such a nice touch and looks so fresh! Love your pumpkin centerpiece...
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those who never throws anything away either :-)
Hi Rett,
ReplyDeleteI love the fall colors you've used, and I'm with you about not throwing away potentially useful items (that's being optimistic, right?)! You've used so many beautiful things as you put together your festive table, but I think the chargers and napkin rings are my favorites. The French lettering on the candle is wonderful too!
Your chunky applesauce looks fantastic. I know your guests will love it!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Bill
This is soooo pretty! I like the change from earth tones, to the soft colors and the light green! Great job!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
This is a gorgeous table! Marvelous balance in use of texture and color. Your new placemats are the perfect anchor. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. Job well done! Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty this is -- and your green depression glass just glows! Love your pretty pumpkin and all your autumn lovlies on the table.
ReplyDeleteI'm dragging my heels getting around after getting home from Florida. This is a beautiful table...so elegant. The chargers are wonderful and everything matches so well without matching too much...does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteI would love to sit at a table with you:)
Rett, Your table is just beautiful. I like the white pumpkin. Most of all I like how you've layered all the dishes at each place setting. It looks absolutely beautiful, Rett!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
Aunt Rett I love your 3 F's tablescape! It's traditional without being frilly and contemporary without being cold. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I finally got my act together with a googlereader account and will now stay current with your blog :)
Love, Ronni
