Strawberries with Breakfast

I am going to try to get back to blogging since I've missed my blogging friends & "playing with my dishes" so much!

The joy of entertaining went out the window when Ernie passed away.  *sigh*
Other than a few family dinners, I have not bothered to set a pretty table for a long time.

I joined a Facebook page called "Tea Cups & Cupcakes" & have been inspired to use my
collection of tea cups in little vignettes, just for myself.

Perhaps a friend or two will be able to
join me, once this awful corona virus has passed.

Breakfast this morning is a Kodiak Cinnamon Oat pancake with 2 chicken sausages.

Topped with fresh strawberries & Swerve brown sugar!

Irish Breakfast is my tea of choice this morning.

Napoleon Bee flatware is from Horchow

My pretty tea cup today is Staffordshire from England

It was a thrift store find, as was my strawberry basket, below.

Traditionally, the little containers on the side were used for brown sugar & cream.

Thank you for visiting *The Gazebo House*.
I hope to be able to get this to post & then visit your blogs as well.

  1. How wonderful to see a post from you this morning, Retta! You have been missed. I was looking at one of my recipes on my blog just last week and noticed a comment from you. I came over to see if you'd posted anything, but was disappointed. So today is a special day! Your strawberry basket is such a pretty and unique piece.
Yes, it would be hard to set a pretty table just for one. I'm glad you decided to rejoin blogging. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  2. Welcome back!! I just love your tea and breakfast for one, Rett. It's wonderful that you shared this breakfast, for I have missed your posts, but always enjoy seeing what you're up to on FB. I LOVE that teacup...it's such a beauty. One thing that I do is have a pretty tray for my breakfast every morning and I choose a different teacup each day. Rich and I always had breakfast in bed, so I've continued the tradition.

    1. What a nice tradition to carry on, Kitty! I fear I would spill tea all over the place...I'm lucky to get it to the table without making a drip sometimes. LOL
Thanks so much for your encouragement & support & for visiting. I'll pop over to your blog to see your latest post shortly..

    1. Such kind words...thank you Linda! I know what you mean about those early morning prowls...*sigh* I'm am frequently up in the night & walk around the house, just checking on doors. Funny habit.

  6. I am so happy to see you return to blogging, Retta! I have missed you and "all the gang!" I haven't been blogging for a while, but just recently felt a tug to return. You have inspired me! Now I have to think of something to post! I've been doing a lot of posting on FB (Kathy D. Aurelia) but have missed the chit-chat of blogging.

    Welcome back!

    1. I had just been thinking about you, Kathy! I was wondering if you still had to avoid drinking tea. That would be SO DIFFICULT for me to give up!
Thanks for stopping by & for your kind comments as I struggle to get back in the swing of blogging.
